Our next meeting on Wednesday, July 14 is going to be a Business meeting and Financial Report. And a review of each of the speakers at the Olds Spring Conference. These speakers were excellent and I believe that sharing their message with those who could not attend is very important. If you attended the conference and would like to give a 10 – 15 minute synopsis of what you heard and learned please let me know. We then have an ‘Let’s Talk’ informal discussion about the state of the world from a dowsing perspective. Maybe we should do a focused healing on the Gulf disaster.
Would appreciate your input - so plan to be there!

Feel free to share and pass on this information. New members and guests are always welcome at our monthly meetings! Remember YOU have a website: www.calgarydowsers.com  Post articles, comments, notices, web links that you think our Dowsers Calgary community would be interested in knowing about. Looking for presenters/speakers for September and October. Suggestions?  Please call me.

Our annual ‘Road Trip’ is booked for Friday, September 17. NOTE this date in your calendar – I’m sure you will want to be there. Details are at the bottom of this email. I need a volunteer who will coordinate the vehicles and registration.  Will someone please step up to the plate – I need HELP!!! This is your club - your participation is greatly needed!

Call me at 403-217-2702 or email me at Merope@meropesdream.com or speak to me at the meeting on Wednesday. I would very much appreciate your input. This is your group and any way you can assist to keep us exciting and informative would be hugely appreciated.

Announcement:  Friday, September 17 – ROAD TRIP

Join us for a fascinating evening at the Rothney Astrophysical Observatory. A University of Calgary research facility, the observatory has been the centre for astronomical research in Southern Alberta for the past forty years. On Friday September 17, we will start with a presentation in the Interpretive Centre by Jennifer Howse, Education Specialist at the observatory. She will be speaking on Blackfoot Astronomy and history of astronomical activity in foothills of Alberta. Then an exploration of new research, specifically searching for planets orbiting distant stars. We will then tour the telescopes and the observatory.
Weather permitting we observe the sky with the large telescopes. In the sky on this evening are Jupiter and Uranus.
Program begins at 7:00 pm.  sunset 7:45, observing by 8:15, waxing moon, viewing Uranus, Jupiter  this includes a presentation in our the interpretive centre, tour of the telescopes and observing (weather permitting). Then for those who are brave and curious, we can hang out a bit longer and try watching out for UFO’s. This would be a prime spot as it is dark and high on a hill. You will need to dress very warm, bring a small flashlight, a lawnchair or sleeping bag, and a lot of patience as it takes time to spot a UFO!

Obviously we need to car pool, and for this I need HELP!  Who will coordinate the car pool?

Attached  is a picture to pique your curiosity! Thanks.

"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science."
-Albert Einstein

PS: This experience will be offered to members only (yearly membership $30.00) until September 8 and after that date – attendance will be open to guests.
